Resident Evil debuted to a fixed camera angle. That means there was nothing players could do to change their camera view. Wherever the camera was placed, the players watched as they were either mauled by zombies or zombie dogs. Since the first Resident Evil game, the series has tried different camera views from third-person to first-person.
Like Resident Evil 2 remake, some of their remakes switched camera views from the original games, but what about the recent stories in the series?
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
Many were surprised when gameplay before Resident Evil 7’s release showed first-person gameplay. Some were excited, and others were skeptical. However, it worked really well to bring out the immersive horror that was Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. The biggest reason Resident Evil 7 went the way of first-person was to play around with VR capabilities.
Does That Mean Resident Evil Village Will Be In First-Person?
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard was the best-selling Resident Evil title in the series, selling more than any other Resident Evil title with more than 8 million copies. That means Resident Evil 7 was doing something right. Whether it was the first-person gameplay or the change in the overall feel of the game, they’re most likely going to bring back what worked, so expect to see first-person gameplay make a return to Resident Evil Village.
