Uh oh, it looks like there’s more disastrous news to come for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X pre-orders.
As if we needed any more bad news this year in 2020.
Amazon has been sending out emails warning those who pre-ordered through the website that they may not receive their PlayStation 5 orders on release day. This doesn’t bode well for Sony, who had plenty of time to prepare for their next-generation, apparently have done a horrible job communicating their pre-orders to retailers.
Walmart, one of the biggest gaming retailers alongside Amazon, had to cancel some of their pre-orders, which set gamers in a state of justified rage. Whether it was a miscommunication between Sony and the retailers selling their system or maybe COVID-19 has thrown everything out of the loop, the players are the ones affected in the end.
While it’s upsetting for those who were hoping to get their PlayStation 5 system on the day of release, many believe the PlayStation 5 isn’t worth picking up until 2021. However, that’s not the point, and people who paid money for their pre-orders expect to have the product delivered on the promised date. Unfortunately, whether Amazon will deliver the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X on time might have to be an early Christmas miracle.
We do need some good news this year. However, if our pre-orders don’t come then, we should just throw the whole year away.
