When you first enter the Otherworld, one of the first items you pick up from an open container is a can.

If you look to the right of where you found the can, you’ll see a machine with a recycling sign above it. If you put two-and-two together, you’ll assume the best thing to do is throw the can into the recycling machine.

After depositing the can into the recycling machine, you will receive 5 clams. It doesn’t sound like much, but don’t discount the recycling machine.

You’ll notice as you go through the Junkyard that you’re gathering a lot of different items. Kel is also scavenging items with every encounter through the Junkyard, so you’ll come out the other end with a lot to recycle. Once Pluto leaves you next to Mari at the beginning of the Otherworld, you’re prompted to confront Space Boyfriend.
What Should You Do With All The Junkyard Items In Omori?

Instead of running off to the mailbox to sell the items, it’s smarter to go to the recycling machine to offload all the items you found in the Junkyard.

Not only will you pick up some clams to pick up items for the confrontation with Space Boyfriend, but you’ll pick up other goodies as well.
