Anyone who’s seen footage of The Medium game releasing later this month knows it’s going to be taxing for the average computer. While The Medium will be heavy on the cutscenes (since it is a story-driven game), the simultaneous dual-reality gameplay through this Silent Hill-esque horror game will have higher than standard minimum system requirements.
The Medium’s Minimum System Requirements
The system requirements for The Medium are listed on their Steam page. The minimum requirements are as follows:
- Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
- OS: Windows 10 (64bit version only)
- Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-6600 / AMD Ryzen™ 5 2500X
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: @1080p NVIDIA GeForce® GTX 1060 6GB / AMD Radeon™ R9 390X (or equivalent with 4 GB VRAM)
- DirectX: Version 11
- Storage: 55 GB available space
- Sound Card: DirectX compatible, headphones recommended
Can My Computer Run The Medium?
The Medium, which was nominated at Gamescom 2020 for Best Action-Adventure Game and Best Indie Game, is also slated for release on the Xbox Series X/S. If you don’t think your computer can meet the system requirements for The Medium, you could try your luck with an Xbox Series X/S (that is, if you can find one). If not, at the very least, try to pick up a graphics card along the lines of the recommended graphics of @1080p NVIDIA GeForce® GTX 1660 Ti / Radeon™ RX Vega 56 | @4K NVIDIA GeForce® RTX 2070 / Radeon™ RX 5700 XT.
When Will The Medium Release?
The Medium will release on January 28th, 2021, after some delay because of COVID-19.
