Back 4 Blood was announced for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and Windows during The Game Awards in December. The current release date for Back 4 Blood is June 22nd, 2021, but that is subject to change. We can finally get our hands bloody with the guts of the infected, otherwise known as the “Ridden,” in Back 4 Blood, but how much will it cost us?
Back 4 Blood Will Be Costly For Next-Generation Consoles
Many gamers were blown away by the price tag for some next-generation titles on the PlayStation 5 for $70. Others, such as Sackboy: A Big Adventure, had a whopping retail price of $60.
That means, there’s no doubt Back 4 Blood will release for over $60 for next-generation consoles. Back 4 Blood’s price could be lower for previous-generation consoles such as the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.
Why Will Back 4 Blood Be So Expensive For Next-Gen Consoles?
Jim Ryan, PlayStation’s boss (Sony Interactive Entertainment’s CEO), believes the prices for next-generation games are justified. Even some publishers, such as Activation, tacked a higher price tag on their games like the new Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.
They believe the price is a fair representation of what they need to charge for a game because of how advanced they are.
What Will Back 4 Blood’s Price Be?
At the current trend of pricing for next-generation consoles, don’t be surprised if you see the normal version of Back 4 Blood be $69.99 for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X. Any collector’s editions, of course, will be pricier.
