Phasmophobia Would Be More Interesting If Players Could Identify The Cause Of Death

Many of us have put more than 24 hours into Phasmophobia so far, and the replayability is decent enough to keep us going through this early access phase of the game. However, has anyone questioned how we’re professional ghost hunters without doing anything but documenting that the ghost exists? The homeowners are like, “Thanks, we know the ghost exists, but is there anything else you can tell us?”

Players Should Be Able To Identify The Cause Of Death

The closest thing we have to a cause of death is a bone. Is that all? How are we going to know how the ghost died? They randomly lost a femur? Gamers love solving puzzles. That’s why Resident Evil and Silent Hill were so popular.

We should have puzzles or more evidence to piece together how the ghost died in the first place. It seems like a waste of money to have people come into your home, throw salt everywhere, and say, “Yep, you have a ghost.”

Maybe if we can identify the cause of death, we can work towards purifying the home of the haunt. That might not be our job, but this isn’t really a ghost-busting game.

However, adding more than filling in a journal with pictures of the ghost’s existence might make the game more fun. The homeowners already know the ghost exists; they just want to figure out why it’s haunting them in the first place. That would really improve replayability in Phasmophobia.

What do you want to see added to Phasmophobia?
