Phasmophobia Keyboard Controls
Phasmophobia Keyboard Controls

Phasmophobia is playable without a VR headset. Many aren’t able to afford the hefty price tag for the full immersion of Phasmophobia in VR. Fortunately, Phasmophobia is still fun even without virtual reality. However, you will need to learn the keyboard controls.

Where Can I Find The Keyboard Controls For Phasmophobia?

When you first start a game, they thrust you immediately into training with no way of searching for the keyboard controls when you’re actively playing. When you try to open settings to refer to keyboard controls, you only see the audio settings.

Phasmophobia Review

After clicking around and finally finding out how to open the truck in the tutorial, you make your way to the house. Inside the house, down the hallway, there is a living room with the television. For some reason, the television is where you first learn the keyboard controls for Phasmophobia.

What Are The Keyboard Controls For Phasmophobia?

If you’re not playing with a VR headset, you should learn the keyboard controls for Phasmophobia:

Movement

These are the keys to move your character around in Phasmophobia. Movement in Phasmophobia utilizes the normal WASD keys. SHIFT helps your character move faster in the game. You can’t run in Phasmophobia, which is frustrating to some players, but it heightens the fear when trying to find a place to hide. Crouching helps players hide from ghosts in corners of rooms. However, it is best to find a closet or locker when running from a ghost. Here are the movement controls in Phasmophobia:

  • W – MOVE FORWARD
  • A – LEFT MOVEMENT
  • S – BACKWARDS MOVEMENT
  • D – RIGHT MOVEMENT
  • SHIFT – RUN
  • C – CROUCH

Communication

There are two forms of communication in Phasmophobia. Many people use Discord, but it’s not recommended because the ghost won’t be able to hear players if they’re not talking in the game. Local push to talk is used to speak to players in immediate range and to speak to ghosts in a room. Global push to talk is a radio used to communicate with players further away. Here are the default communication keys in Phasmophobia:

  • V – LOCAL PUSH TO TALK
  • B – GLOBAL PUSH TO TALK

Using Items

Item use is crucial in Phasmophobia. Without items, you won’t be able to figure out what type of ghost you’re dealing with. You also won’t be able to defend yourself if needed. When you’re not using VR in Phasmophobia, you can’t hold as many items as a VR player. That means it’s important to learn how to drop and pick up items. Also, you need to learn how to use or turn on an item using the right mouse button. Here are the default controls you will need to know when using items in Phasmophobia:

  • Q – INVENTORY SWAP (Swaps between the two you’re holding in non-VR mode)
  • J – JOURNAL (Opens a journal)
  • E – PICKUP ITEM (How To Use Items In Phasmophobia)
  • G – DROP ITEM
  • RIGHT BUTTON (MOUSE) – PRIMARY USE
  • F – SECONDARY USE (Switching head-mounted camera)
  • T – FLASHLIGHT (turns on or turns off the flashlight)

You can set each of these to different keys if you’re comfortable playing another way besides Phasmophobia’s default controls.
