Welcome back to our Omori walkthrough guide. We’re still chugging along through Omori’s sunny route. We’d like to give a fair warning, there are some disturbing images in this guide. However, if you’ve made it this far in Omori, then you know the game contains some graphic images and situations. Now, we’re going to learn what exactly happened to Mari.
After picking up the photo in the forest, you’ll see a rope. If you already haven’t put two and two together, Mari died by hanging. That’s the significance of this stump. It took a while, but now we know why there is a stump in Omori’s dream world. We’re assuming Sunny’s mother was so distraught that she took down the tree.
Continue walking north through the next gate and you’ll pick up another photo. In this photo, you’ll see a pair of hands preparing the rope. Obviously, Mari isn’t preparing the rope for her own death, as much as we’ve believed to this point that it was a suicide.
Once you pick up the photo, have Omori continue walking north. He’s still covered in blood. What is the significance of Omori being covered in blood?
You will pick up another photo, this time it shows Mari hanging from the tree. There’s a chest on the ground, implying she didn’t step up there on her own.
We know it’s a very disturbing photo, but we knew to this point that there was something fishy going on. If you continue north you’ll run into a tree. Keep an eye on the ground. You’ll notice there isn’t anything hanging on the tree, but there is something hanging on the shadow. This is a great touch by the developers of Omori and really brings out the creepiness factor of the game. You’ll notice, under the tree is one more photo.
If you pick up the photo, it’s tough to know what exactly this is but it looks like a random shot as Basil was moving around with Sunny during Mari’s death.
The next photo you pick up is of Sunny walking down the stairs. There’s just enough light to show someone laying there. It’s obviously Mari.
It’s clear Sunny and Basil are directly responsible for Mari’s death, but why? We’ll have to find out as we continue our Omori Walkthrough guide.
