After defeating the Maverick, Kel and Sunny must continue their search for Aubrey. Unfortunately, there’s still one more obstacle in their way of finding Basil’s photobook. Fortunately, after the somewhat damaging (not challenging) fight that was the Maverick, Kel and Sunny can make their way to the pharmacy.

If you’ve picked up enough trash and did some of the side-quests, you should have enough money for some very affordable bandages and first aid kits. This is a steal compared to the exorbitant prices up in the Otherworld. You’ll want to pick up as many as you can as you still have two fights ahead of you.

After you’re done filling your pockets with bandages, make your way to the other end of the Othermart to the candy store, where you’ll find Kim and Vance filling their pockets with candy.

After getting them caught, they run out of the store where you must give chase.

Fortunately, Kel isn’t only about violence. He bought a big bag of candy that may or may not include Taffy. Unfortunately, the bag of candy isn’t enough to avoid confrontation.

Focus on taking down Kim first. Now, you have two people actively trying to take down Kel. Try to keep Kel above 100 HP. Utilize the guard option if you need to have Sunny hit him with a first aid kid. It’s not a difficult battle, but it does hurt. Once Kim is down, Kel isn’t taking too much of a beating anymore, so starting having Kel go on the offensive.

After their loss, they reluctantly tell Kel and Sunny that Aubrey is at the church.

Go back towards Faraway Park and head all the way south. Once you hit the end of the road, head left and walk down the sidewalk past the row of houses. You’ll come across the church. You’ll get to peek in, and Kel will give you one last chance not to go in but walk in anyway.

After Kel and Sunny try to resolve the issue with Aubrey quietly, things escalate with the M-word comes into play. They try their best not to make a scene, but Kel and Aubrey’s conflict can’t be contained within the walls of a church.

The fight with Aubrey in the church isn’t as challenging as it is a fight for the sake of progressing storytelling. Clearly, something is going on with Aubrey that’s beyond what Sunny and Kel can comprehend right now.

The text during and after the battle is that of the other churchgoers. This is a clear attempt to build sympathy for Aubrey (it worked for us). We’re supposed to feel bad for Aubrey after this.

Even Kel feels bad for Aubrey.

Even the preacher didn’t want to get involved, but let’s be honest, if you didn’t break up a fight in your own church, are you even a good preacher? Head out to the graveyard through the backdoor to see some interesting things.

A headstone, with puzzle pieces in front of it, does it mean?

No wonder Omori attributes death to toast.

Head to the back of the graveyard to find Mari’s headstone. (It’s the only one with the light shining on it). You’ll get an interesting story from Kel.

Once you leave the church, start heading back towards Basil’s house. Knock on some doors, and, depending on interactions you’ve had throughout the town, you’ll get some fun continuations of NPC dialogue.

Eventually, you’ll come across Aubrey’s house, where Kel digs through the trash and finds the photo album.

Mission accomplished. Make sure you high five Kel for an achievement. Who wouldn’t high five your friend? Apparently, only 60% of Steam users have actually high fived Kel. Who are the other 40% monsters?
Now it’s time to head to Basil’s house in the next part – Omori Walkthrough Gameplay Guide: Part Twenty-Six
