Welcome to GameDom’s Comprehensive Walkthrough of Omori. We’re currently using two files for dry runs through the game. One dry run through a written walkthrough and one dry run for a video walkthrough. However, we’re using the third file to work on a complete walkthrough to ensure we have a complete step-by-step guide that chronicles everything you need to know in Omori, so you can look to see if you’ve missed anything or want to follow along.

Before leaving the playground, there are still a couple of things you should do before you head through the Vast Forward down to Basil’s house.
1. Flower Puzzle
When you’re leaving the playground. Feel free to walk up to Daisy, the girl on the left side of the playground. Feel free to pick up the quest, but you won’t pick up the item for the quest until a little later in the prologue.
At the bottom left corner of the playground, you’ll find Shawn lying on the grass now. Interacting with Shawn shows a small scene where Omori and friends look up at the stars. Afterward, Omori learns Observe. At the cost of 0 Juice, Observe allows Omori to predict who the enemy will attack next.
Before taking the south exit to the Vast Forest where you can make your way to Basil’s house, you’re stopped by a talking mailbox. This is where you can buy or sell items in Omori.
2. Path To Basil’s House
Now that you’re finished in the playground, it’s time to head down to Basil’s house. You’ve already encountered a battle with Boss, but this journey is where you will learn the ins-and-outs of Omori’s battle system with its emotion and energy system.
When you come out the south exit of the playground, you’ll come across a sign that will point you towards the train station to the left or the pinwheel forest to the right. Disregard these for now and head south to Basil’s house.
1. Angry Sprout Mole
The first creature you encounter is an angry sprout mole. As you guessed, it’s a sprout mole with angry emotion. Any player or enemy afflicted with anger will have a higher attack, but lower defense. It’s also the perfect time to strike.
2. Foe Facts Journal
After defeating the angry sprouts mole, Omori will receive the Foe Facts Journal. This is essentially a bestiary where you can keep track of enemies you come across in Omori.
3. Happy Sprout Mole
Continue down the path to Basil’s house, and you’ll come across a happy sprout mole. This sprout mole is happy, which means it will have a higher chance of scoring a critical hit, but will also have a higher chance of missing.
4. Emotion Chart
After defeating the happy sprout mole, Omori will receive the emotion chart. This explains the strengths and weaknesses of each emotion.
5. Sad Sprout Mole
Continue towards Basil’s house, and Kel will antagonize a sad sprout mole. This sprout mole is sad, which means it won’t take as much damage to its heart (HP) or Juice (MP).
6. Hero Learns Massage
If you’ve fought every monster along the way from Boss to the sprout moles, Hero will learn Massage. This ability allows Hero to pacify (clear) either an enemy or another party member of its emotions.
7. Save Point
You’ll continue south towards Basil’s house and come across a clearing where Mari has another blanket set up for a save point. Replenish your heart and juice with the treats here, then save.
8. Ye Old Sprout
After continuing south of the save point, the party will run into a larger sprout mole blocking the entrance to Basil’s house. This is the Ye Old Sprout, and this is also where the player can use what they’ve learned about emotions for the battle system.
9. Collective Energy
About halfway through the battle, Kel will teach Omori about the energy system. This is where you learn about follow-up moves.
- Hero calls to another player, healing them.
- Aubrey looks at another player, eliciting an emotion depending on who she looks at.
- Kel passes to another player, changing their emotion.
- Omori can attack again, trip an enemy to slow them, or unleash their collective energy.
Using these follow-up abilities consumes energy.
10. Omori Learned Stab
After defeating the Ye Old Sprout, Omori will level up and learn stab. Omori can only stab when he is sad, but it will always deal a critical hit at the cost of 13 juice.
11. Self-Help Guide
After the battle with Ye Old Sprout, you’ll receive the Self-Help Guide from Kel, where you can view the party’s follow-up abilities.
3. Basil’s House
Once you defeat the Ye Old Sprout, you’re given access to Basil’s house.
1. Outside Basil’s House
There’s not much to do outside of Basil’s house. You’ll have a small scene where Basil gets knocked over after a fight between Kel and Aubrey.
2. Inside Basil’s House
Inside Basil’s house is where the story starts to get real. You’ll have a small playable scene where you put Basil’s misplaced photos back into the photo album. However, as Basil is walking away, he drops another photo. This kicks off a particularly disturbing scene that sends Omori back to the White Space a second time.
4. White Space #2
When you’re sent back to the White Space a second time, you can interact with all of the items again. However, you’ll notice something different about the end of the sketchbook that we told you to make a note of the second time. You’re free to explore the white space, but the only way out is by opening the menu, clicking stab, and choosing Omori. Omori then mutilates himself, which starts the next scene.
Part 3 is coming soon.
