Welcome to GameDom’s Comprehensive Walkthrough of Omori. We’re currently using two files for dry runs through the game. One dry run through a written walkthrough and one dry run for a video walkthrough. However, we’re working on a complete walkthrough to ensure we have a complete step-by-step guide that chronicles everything you need to know in Omori, so you can look to see if you’ve missed anything or want to follow along.

1. White Space #1

Get acclimated to the items in the white space. Right now, they’re nothing of note. However, you should get an idea of the items in the white space, as they could be significant when returning to the white space in the future.

Omori Comprehensive Walkthrough Your Sketchbook
  1. The tissue box is for wiping away your sorrows
  2. Mewo is a resting cat
  3. Open the sketchbook to see some disturbing images. Pay special attention to the last page (which is currently blank).
  4. Standing under the lightbulb allows you to interact with it.
  5. You’re able to interact with the white door, but there’s nothing you can do until you find a Shiny Knife.
  6. After interacting with the sketchbook, the screen will shake, followed by a message that something fell nearby. Walk outside of the black lines into the empty white space. You’ll eventually run into the Shiny Knife. While the White Space does loop, the floating hands will bring you back to the small room if you get lost.

Now that you have the Shiny Knife, you’re able to open the door into the playroom.

2. Playroom

Omori Comprehensive Walkthrough Aubrey Snatched The Stuffed Toy From You

When you enter the playroom for the first time, you’re approached by Aubrey and the rest of Omori’s friends. After a brief scene, you’re free to explore the playroom.

  1. Make a note of the tentacle in this room; you’ll need it for later.
  2. Smash the blue watermelon to obtain a stuffed toy.
  3. You can do this before speaking to Aubrey so that you can hand it to her immediately.
  4. You can speak to the snake, but it’s waiting for you to finish your interactions in the playroom first.

You’ll meet Kel, Hero, and Aubrey. You’ll also meet Kel’s new pet rock named Hector. If you try to make your way outside of the playroom, you’ll receive a message that you can’t go anywhere without your friends. After turning in the stuffed toy, talk to everyone again before Hero informs you that you’ve all been invited to the playground to play with Mari and Basil.

Once you accept the invitation from Hero, the rest of Omori’s friends will join the party. Now, you can head up the stairs and out of the playroom. You’ll be briefly stopped by the snake who gives you an allowance of 50 clams.

3. Playground

Omori Comprehensive Walkthrough Aubrey Mari Basil

After a brief cutscene of Omori and friends leaving the playroom out of a tree trunk, make your way directly south. Once you enter the playground, the friends will surround the picnic blanket in a cutscene where you will meet Mari and Basil.

Omori Comprehensive Walkthrough Playground
Omori Playground
  1. The picnic blanket is the save point in Omori. Clicking on the picnic basket will prompt you to save. There is always some type of treat on the picnic blanket that refreshes the party members’ hearts and juice.
  2. You’ll learn a little about Basil and his photo album. You can flip through the photo album itself.
  3. You’ll notice a side quest marker above a small girl playing with a larger creature at the tetherball pole in the middle of the playground.
    1. You’re roped into a game of hide-and-seek with Berly. Omori is chosen as the person that is “it.”
    2. Everyone on the playground is relatively easy to find because they’re bad at hiding.
      1. Kel is behind the tetherball pole.
      2. Nose and Bun are behind the slide.
      3. Van is behind the tree.
      4. Happy is in the jack-in-the-box.
      5. Bangs doesn’t move and is in their spot by the hop-scotch.
      6. Sharleen also doesn’t move and is near the mailbox.
      7. Brows is running around a tree (not even hiding).
      8. Mikal has their head popping out of a tree near Brows.
      9. Aubrey is hiding behind a bush near Mikal.
      10. After finding Aubrey, you’ll find Hero at the bottom left corner of the playground with Shawn and Ren.
      11. Once you’ve found everyone, there’s a new mound near the tetherball pole with a straw sticking out of it. This is where Berly is.
    3. After finding Berly, she will do a roll call where they all realize Basil is missing. The tree nearby will begin to shake, and it’s revealed that Basil has been captured by a creature known as “Boss.”
  4. Boss Fight: Boss
    1. The first boss fight is with a creature appropriately named “Boss.” This is the player’s first introduction to the battle system. However, it’s not a tutorial fight, so don’t expect to learn much. You can navigate the menus to get used to them.
    2. The Boss fight has a predetermined outcome, so don’t be surprised when almost everyone is killed in the end and turned to “toast.” Only Omori doesn’t succumb and ends up getting the final blow.
Omori Comprehensive Walkthrough Waht Will Omori And Friends Do
Boss Fight

After the Boss fight, Basil sympathizes with Boss due to the fact that they weren’t banned from the playground by Berly and not allowed to play Hide-And-Seek. It’s discovered that Boss never intended to hurt anyone. Basil tears down the poster that’s warned him to stay away as Boss hides in shame. There is a side quest on the left side of the playground from an NPC named Daisy. However, we suggest ignoring this for now, and it’s not relevant, but should be picked up later.

Save at Mari’s picnic blanket. Part Two is coming soon.
