Phasmophobia has two new ghosts with their most recent update: The Yokai and the Hantu. Today, we’re going to look at the Yokai in Phasmophobia and how it differs from other ghosts we’ve encountered before.
Talking In Phasmophobia
If you’re a big fan of talking in Phasmophobia, then you might want to think twice before chatting it up with your team or talking smack about the ghost around a Yokai. One of the unique strengths of the Yokai in Phasmophobia is that you can increase its chance of spawning and attacking players the more you talk near it.
This is not very good news for Phasmophobia Twitch streamers who like to chat it up to alleviate their nervousness when trying to look cool for their fans.
The Yokai Has A Weakness
Much like other ghosts in Phasmophobia, the Yokai do have a weakness. Just because there is a new ghost in Phasmophobia doesn’t mean it doesn’t have its weak point. While the Yokai will attack based on talking near it, its range of hearing is limited to its immediate area.
That means if you’re further away from the ghost’s room, then you’re likely safe from the Yokai as it wouldn’t be able to hear you when it’s hunting. However, we do need to emphasize that this weakness only applies when the Yokai is hunting. When the Yokai is hunting, it will only hear the nearby voices of ghost hunters cowering in fear.
