Phasmophobia is a 4-player co-op psychological horror game that is sweeping the likes of YouTube and Twitch. What’s surprising is, this co-op horror game is still in its early access phase. That means there’s not a lot of content and plenty of bugs to work through. Despite the lack of content and early access issues, it’s a surprisingly addicting and immersive game; it’s even more immersive in virtual reality.
What VR Controllers Does Phasmophobia Support?
Phasmophobia is fun without a VR, but there’s no denying there’s an extra level of immersion with a VR controller. Phasmophobia supports the following VR headsets:
- Oculus Rift
- HTC Vive
- Windows Mixed Reality
- Valve Index
Is Phasmophobia On The Oculus Quest 2?
While the Quest 2 shares the same brand name as the Rift, the VR controller Phasmophobia does support, that doesn’t mean the game natively supports the new Quest 2.
The Quest 2 came out on October 13th, 2020, and many were wondering if it would work with Phasmophobia.
Does Phasmophobia Work With The Oculus Quest 2?
While Kinetic Games has expressed its intention to work on Quest support, there is no native support for the Quest 2 yet. However, that doesn’t mean the Oculus Quest 2 doesn’t work with Phasmophobia. It takes a couple of extra steps.
- The Oculus Quest 2 can work with SteamVR by purchasing a link cable that allows the Quest to work as a Rift.
- The $80 cable, available on the Oculus website, gives access to thousands of games as if the Quest 2 were the Rift.
Whether or not there are any issues with the Quest 2 is a risk players will have to take until there is direct support for the Oculus Quest 2.
