Gods and Monsters are no more, it looks like Immortals Fenyx Rising is here, and everyone’s already comparing it to Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild. Maybe it’s because of the aesthetic, or perhaps it’s because the aesthetic is strikingly similar.
How much the two games share will have to be under intense speculation until the game is released on December 3rd. It isn’t easy to get over the similarities, even after an almost two-hour gameplay demo. The trailer alone looks like Link decided to take a break from fighting monsters and decided to let Fenyx take a swing at the Greek side of Hyrule.
Saying it that way sounds completely ridiculous until you see that an almost exact replica of Zelda’s Ganon is the one wreaking havoc at the home of the Greek gods. We’re trying really hard not to believe we’re not looking at a The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild spinoff taking place on some obscure island of Hyrule.
Comparisons aside, the world shown in the Immortals Fenyx Rising World Premiere Trailer looks interesting as you can take up different weapons like a sword as you ride a horse through a surprisingly expansive overworld. The more we talk about what we’ve seen in Immortals Fenyx Rising World Premiere Trailer, the more it sounds like The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild out of context. Trust us, it isn’t.
Fortunately, it looks like what Immortals Fenyx Rising does differently is expanding on some of the features that Breath Of The Wild was lacking. During the Immortals Fenyx Rising World Premiere Trailer, the combat system is shown to be a little different from Breath Of The Wild. There are many more puzzles to enjoy in the vast open-world than there is in Breath Of The Wild. Of course, some of the puzzles require questionably similar skills to how Link took care of business in Breath Of The Wild puzzles.
Right now, it’s still too early to make any rash judgments. However, first impressions are everything, and, right now, the Immortals Fenyx Rising World Premiere Trailer just looks like a spinoff trailer for the Zelda series. Immortals Fenyx Rising will release on December 3rd for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Nintendo Switch with future planned released for the next-generation consoles.
