Once you collect all the evidence by using the various equipment available to you, you’ll be able to figure out which ghost is haunting that specific location.

You’ll need to use the different pieces of equipment available in order to detect ghosts in Phasmophobia. When you start the game, you’re given basic equipment:

- Ghost orbs (found with a video camera)
- The spirit’s voice (found with a spirit box)
- Fingerprints (found with a UV light)
- EMF level 5 (found with an EMF reader)
- Freezing temperatures (found with a thermometer or by seeing your breath)
- Ghost writing (found using the ghost writing book)
Once you win a couple of rounds, you’ll have the money to purchase more advanced ghost detecting equipment such as a parabolic microphone. However, keep in mind, you need to find the ghost before it finds you.
