How Do I Switch To Phasmophobia Beta

You’ve probably heard that the prison map was just released for Phasmophobia, so you excitedly booted up the game, grabbed all your friends, and went to search for the contract. You left the lobby and rejoined, thinking it would show up eventually, but it hasn’t. What’s the deal?

How Come I’m Not Getting The Prison Map In Phasmophobia?

If you cannot select the prison map, you need to check the build you’re playing with. The default build for Phasmophobia after you install it is the early access build. This build is considered the “stable” build. If you want to play the prison map, you need to switch to the beta build.

How Do You Switch To The Stable Build In Phasmophobia?

To switch to the beta build of Phasmophobia:

  • Open your Steam
  • Right-click on “Phasmophobia”
  • Click on the “betas” tab at the top
  • Click the drop-down arrow under “Select the beta you would like to opt into:”
  • Click on “beta – Unstable build”

Keep in mind, as it says in the option, this is an unstable build for Phasmophobia. There are a few bugs to be expected. A lot of people assume they’ll play through an unstable beta build with no issues, but that’s not realistic.

Let us know how the prison map works out for you.
