I was given the decision to save Eorzea from this new Ultima Weapon prototype or go back and figure out how to get the Scions back to The Source. Of course, this being a video game, I could head back to the first, and time freezes until I get back to face off against the new Ultima Weapon.
“Hold on, guys, the main character is somewhere else. We need to stop what we’re doing.”

After gathering the Scions (sans Thancred), I stood in our circle in my new schoolgirl outfit and explained that Square Enix couldn’t come up with a new enemy, so they just repainted the Ultima Weapon.

Each of the Scions responded but, to my surprise, I completely understood Urianger’s response. Yes, after years of conversing with Urianger, he finally said something basic enough for me to understand. Basically, he said, “This is why we need to get back faster.”

This is when Crystal Exarch found the perfect point to insert his topic into the conversation: they may have found a way to get the Scions back to the first.

However, this was after trial and error. Wait, what do you mean by trial and error? Did you try experimenting by sending poor souls to their deaths only to get lost in the Aether?

But the Crystal Exarch promised he’d do whatever it took to get us home. We can trust a guy who failed miserably to bring us here in the first place, right?

Before the conversation got too sappy, Lyna came in to speak with the Warrior of Dank Memes.

However, she didn’t want to talk to me in front of everyone, so she asked me to meet her outside. Couldn’t you have just waited outside for me?

Now you got the Crystal Exarch in his feelings. Good job, Lyna.
