Last week, there were a lot of announcements regarding video games. Shortly after the launch of the PS5 event in which a massive number of games, EA Play happened live.

This was an event organized by the Electronic Arts company, where FIFA 21 was first shown. Then, it was generating the usual expectations among its potential players.

Now, the controversy has found some light. It is due to a hidden section in the Frequently Asked Questions within the company page. Over there, they stated that the version of the PC version would be the same as in PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

It means that PC users will not have all the advantages that the game will have on next-generation consoles. Therefore, for the first time in years, the game will have a much lower version on PC than on consoles.

What Did EA Say?

Some PC gamers have been sceptical with the information and assumed it was a mistake. Why don’t they launch a version on computers with the new generation of consoles? Electronic Arts have not yet explained the reasons for the decision, but they have spoken about future versions of the title.

The haptic controllers will make the impact of shots, passes, stops, kicks and dribbles feel in the player’s own hands. The loading times will become noticeably faster: “players will never lose concentration, the environments of the states will be loaded at an unprecedented speed, which will make the match start in seconds,” said EA on Steam.

There will also be deferred lighting and rendering: “The new environments look authentic, powered by a new lighting system, creating ultra-realistic soccer experiences and player fidelity. It will have more detail in movement, faces, hair and uniforms.” that will take realism to another level, “football fans will enjoy the improvements with the best”.

These are many changes to assimilate, but the doubt that assails many players is whether it would not be possible to bring them to PC.

The company has not explained this decision in more detail. FIFA 21 will mark the return of the saga to Steam, as the leading EA brands have done in recent weeks. The Sims 4, Battlefield, and Need for Speed video games are the examples. Their most prominent names are already on the Valve platform.

For now, we will have to wait for more details of the game.
