Embracing Death With Stellaris Necroids Species

As soon as we are born, we are on a journey towards death. That’s just how life works. No matter what we do, no matter how rich we are, and no matter who we pray to, our flesh will fail us in the end.

Stellaris: Necroids Species is upcoming downloadable content for the Stellaris series from developers, Paradox Development Studio. It’s been four years since the release of the base Stellaris game, and there’s already been a number of DLC along with four major expansions. Paradox Development Studio, the same team behind Crusader Kings, continues to expand into an already expansive universe of potential with the Necroids Species DLC.

The Stellaris: Necroids Species Pack announcement trailer shows off the ever-expansive universe Stellaris has created with its series. The trailer touches quickly on the concept of death and how it’s the start of a brand new journey through another life. Of course, there’s no living again unless you’re undead—the necroids look to be an undead species coming to the universe of Stellaris.

Unfortunately, for those hoping for a full expansion, the Necroids Species pack will only be just that, a species pack. However, if it’s anything like the Lithoids species pack, there will be some interesting additions. The Lithoids species pack came with some new ship models, original portraits, more voices, and interesting mechanics. We’re looking forward to seeing what the Necroids have to offer.

If you’re interested in seeing what the Necroids will be about, then you’ll have to pick up the Stellaris base game. Fortunately, the base Stellaris game is 75% off right now due to Paradox Studio’s current strategy weekend sale.

Gamers are saving a lot of money by purchasing the Stellaris: Strategy Weekend Pack Bundle that includes the complete soundtrack, an eBook, and all the downloadable content. The Stellaris base game is also available on GOG.
