Anno 1800 (2019) is a city construction and strategy game for PC in real-time. It is the seventh in the Anno series and restores the game after two future editions: Anno 2070, and Anno 2205, respectively, to its original style. It is situated at the beginning of the 19th century and is part of the industrial revolution’s technological explosion.
In this game, success is directly based on two things: the growth in the overall population and the happiness of your citizens. The latter can be done according to the type of person involved in various ways: for example, farmers only exist in fish and clothes, but they are happy with alcohol. Happiness helps the population grow (as it happens in real life, one might say), and once a farm is filled with people, you can restructure the house, providing space for staff.
Each class has its own requirements that must be met, but also its own advantages. You will then align their desires with the importance they have for the culture. It impacts the construction administration explicitly. As in real life, the more complicated a building becomes, the more materials are necessary to construct, and the more staff are needed to maintain it. Other than home, larger factories would, of course, require hundreds of workers, all requiring food, clothing, and soap.
The game is split between the “old world” and the “new world.” In both maps, land conquest, raw material extraction, the production, and distribution of goods have to be played together to maintain supply lines and constant production capability.
