If you have been looking for a co-op game to gather up your pals for and sink your teeth into, we have good news. Back 4 Blood is the game you have been waiting for and just recently celebrated its open beta where players could see exactly what this game has to offer. So there is no better time than the present to educate yourself on the enemies that you will face within this new title and get a leg up on the Ridden horde before you even touch a controller. In this guide we look specifically at the Ridden swarm variant, the Shambling Ridden Swarm.
What is The Shambling Ridden Swarm in Back 4 Blood?
Ok, so first it is important to understand what a swarm spawn is. This is when a bunch of standard variant enemies are spawned into the level at once and usually, they will be immediately hostile and run for the player in formation. Imagine if a retch blows up on you and the swarm immediately comes for you as a result. Well, swarm spawns are naturally occurring instances like this.
Now, to touch on the Shambling Ridden Swarm variant in particular, we don’t have a lot of information to go off at this moment in time. However, that wont stop us making an educated guess. Shambling by definition means to move slowly and awkwardly so we would assume that this swarm of enemies will do just that. They will close down the distance on cleaners very slowly, they won’t be too much of an attacking threat and they will be easily outsmarted.
However, to counteract that, we would say that these enemies will be very powerful if they happen to lay a hand on you. Plus, we would say that the amount of common enemies within this swarm will be rather high to compensate for the slow and awkward movement and attack patterns of these swarms.
The best way to take out these swarms would be to keep your distance and pick them off at their weak spots one by one. Or to use an explosive item to take them all out in one fell swoop as they won’t have the ability to get clear of the blast. In short, these are probably the least intimidating enemies you’ll come across in B4B but if they catch you, you’re toast.
So that is our enemy guide for the Back 4 Blood Ridden swarm variant, the Shambling Ridden Swarm. What do you make of this enemy? Do you think this will be the toughest of the lot? If not, which one do you think poses the biggest challenge? Let us known in the comments section below and as always, thank you for reading.
