Back 4 Blood is a game that is heavily inspired by the wonderful zombie thriller, Left 4 Dead. The game uses a lot of the same mechanics, campaign formats, a lot of the enemies and characters are similar to this title and the co-op format is borrowed from this game too. However, one of the mechanics that sets this game apart is the card-based mechanic. This allows players to pick perks and power-ups to take with them on their campaign.
There are over sixty cards to choose from initially and we can only assume that are will be a lot more. So we thought it would be best to run through each card and allow you to become familiar with their effects. Meaning that you can build the best deck possible. Here is our guide for the B4B card, Screwdriver.
What is The Screwdriver Card in Back 4 Blood?
Screwdriver is, much like the name suggests, a helpful tool that can help you get the job done faster. With this card, you will be able to use items 25% faster than usual. Now, this may seem a bit arbitrary but in a situation where you need to hastily heal from behind cover as the horde closes in on you, these extra few seconds can be invaluable. This will allow you to heal others faster, heal yourself faster and use other non-healing items quicker as well.
We would say that while this can be useful situationally, it is not a card that we would urge you to put at the front of your deck. This card can be useful if you do not already have a healer in your squad and can be used in the later stages of campaigns to help deal with those closing stages where healing needs to be instant. However, we would say this is one of the more throwaway cards on the roster.
How Do I Earn Cards in Back For Blood?
The player earns cards in Back for Blood by completing supply lines. This is basically like a battle pass that a player can use to obtain new cards so long as they complete campaigns and earn XP to do so. Players can speed up this progress by using corruption cards that offer extra rewards but also make the action much more difficult throughout the campaign. So if you want to expand your basic card deck, get out there and complete some levels.
What is the Relevance of the Top Card?
Your leading card in the Back 4 Blood card deck is your most important card. Unlike the other cards in this deck, this card will be active for your entire campaign. So make sure that you choose a particularly powerful card that is conducive to your overall playstyle.
