Within the Left 4 Dead universe, there were a handful of rare monsters that could pop up in a session and be the demise of your entire run. Monsters that were just a cut above the rest. Well, it would be a little strange if Back 4 Blood didn’t follow suit and thankfully, this new co-op title hasn’t let us down. This game has a series of special monster variants that you need to understand and get acquainted with. In this guide, we look specifically at the Ridden variant, the Breaker.
What is a Breaker in Back 4 Blood?
As mentioned, the Breaker is a special Ridden variant found in Back 4 Blood. This creature is very similar to the Tank in L4D. It is a huge creature that acts a bullet sponge, taking huge amounts of damage and still rampaging on, pummelling you and your fellow Cleaners. This creature has a huge damage output, can knock back enemies, dispersing tight formations, can incapacitate enemies and despite its gargantuan size, is actually a very agile and fast creature, able to close down space and leap large distances.
In terms of appearance, this mutant almost resembles a stone golem. It has a black, impenetrable wall of hardened flesh to protect itself and only select areas can be hit for a great deal of damage. These are weak spots on it’s thigh, upper back, chest and face. It’s a hulking figure and easily the biggest enemy you will encounter.
This is an enemy that your team will want to focus on taking out together and fast. This creature can slam the ground, creating a huge radius of effect. Meaning the longer this enemy stays alive, the less likely you will be surviving until the end of your campaign. So don’t mess around with the small fries, pump this buy guy full of lead and worry about the rest later.
So that is our enemy guide for the Back 4 Blood Ridden variant, the Breaker. What do you make of this enemy? Do you think this will be the toughest of the lot? If not, which one do you think poses the biggest challenge? Let us known in the comments section below and as always, thank you for reading.
