Back 4 Blood Hunker Down Card Guide

Ever since Left 4 Dead burst onto the scene and galvanised the zombie gaming genre. There have been a cavalcade of games that have tried to match this success. Some have done a fine job like Call of Duty’s Nazi Zombies. Whereas others have failed to meet the mark, cough, Days Gone, cough. Well, it seems that the way to succeed is to honour and replicate the original. Back 4 Blood is the spiritual successor to L4D, however, it does have some features like it’s unique card system to help it carve its own path as a series.

This card system will allow players to collect perks which they can then equip on the fly during campaigns, proving a boost or an added challenge depending on the player’s preference. However, you may be asking, what do these cards do exactly? Well, we have all the answers you need. We have developed a series of guides that break down each card in the series. In this guide we look at the Hunker Down card.

What is the Hunker Down Card in Back 4 Blood?

Hunker Down is a defensive card within the B4B card roster. This card is made for those that like to sit behind cover, keep out of the most intense areas of the battle and pick off enemies from a distance. This card grants the player a 20% damage resistance bonus and a 12.5% accuracy bonus, so long as the player is crouching. Meaning that if you are hiding behind cover, you’ll reap the rewards of not playing aggressively.

This card is one that players should lead with if this is their typical playstyle. This bonus is a generous one and if you play as a sniper or ranged attacker, this could be invaluable to you and indeed your team. Or alternatively, if you need to step out of the fray after a melee bust up, this can be a situational option too.

How Do I Earn Cards in Back For Blood?

The player earns cards in Back for Blood by completing supply lines. This is basically like a battle pass that a player can use to obtain new cards so long as they complete campaigns and earn XP to do so. Players can speed up this progress by using corruption cards that offer extra rewards but also make the action much more difficult throughout the campaign. So if you want to expand your basic card deck, get out there and complete some levels.

What is the Relevance of the Top Card?

Your leading card in the Back 4 Blood card deck is your most important card. Unlike the other cards in this deck, this card will be active for your entire campaign. So make sure that you choose a particularly powerful card that is conducive to your overall playstyle.

So that is our quick guide explaining the Hunker Down card in Back 4 Blood. What did you make of this guide? Was this helpful and informative for you? Which card on the roster has caught your eye? Let us know in the comments section below and as always, thank you for reading.
